Annual Combat Classic Shoot OutOctober 23, 2010Mark your calendars for the 4th annual Phoenix Combat Classic and again this year we will hold it to benefit the Phoenix PD Police Explorer Program. This year the Classic's theme will be Classic Rock (all stages will be based on classic rock songs), we will have an excellent raffle table, shooter awards will work out to one plaque for every three shooters, lunch will be available, and we are already putting our devious minds to work to come up with interesting challenges. CATEGORIES Duty Class: This class is only for competitors using street/duty gear. Holsters require thumb breaks, magazine pouches require flaps, no magazine extensions allowed, and all equipment retention devices are to be locked or snapped in place. Stock Auto Class: Duty guns with open top holsters and magazine pouches, such as what plain clothes officers may wear. Good examples are the kydex holster and magazine pouches with factory high cap magazines, but magazine extensions are not allowed. Challenge Class: 10 round magazines or less, such as a Sig 220s, a 1911, 8-shot revolvers, etc. Open top kydex holsters and mag pouches are authorized. Revolver Class: 6-shot wheel guns only. This is for those interested in going old-school to bring their 6-shooters and show the young'uns how real cops did it back in the day. Open top kydex holsters and pouches are authorized, as are full-moon clips. Team Shoot: At the end of the day, there will be a team shoot with 3 competitors per team. The intent of this match is to have cops shooting cop guns and competing on an even playing field, so unless you can prove you carry it at work, on a daily basis, leave the STIs, optics, $3,000 dollar guns, etc. at home. |
